ok so i did some research on indie music and i learned that indie stands for independent which means that the artist writes their own songs and produce their own music and dont play on the radio. so i’m asking u if u think that mainstream music is better or if indie music is better??
plz be honest. thx

I have been researching into some of the music institutes around the US and I am wondering if Audio Engineering is the course I should be looking at for music production.
I want to produce my OWN material and not just post-master/mix other artists. What should I be looking for?
Any helpful information would be appreciated, thanks!

Please give me your name and a little description of your work experience, who you’ve worked with, and other info you would like me to know. Then please answer the following questions:
1) What in your life inspired you to go into a field, such as audio engineering?
2) What sets you apart from other audio engineers?
3) What kind of advice would you give an aspiring singer who would like to produce her own music?
Thanks for your cooperation!!

I’d like to start a music career. I don’t want to be anything big (like Madonna or Mariah Carey, unless the opportunity comes), but I would like to produce my own music and sing. I’ve been singing and playing the piano on and off since I was 11-years-old and alot of people have said I’m pretty good. I’ve also written and composed some basic songs as well. I’ve been putting it off for so many years because all my life, my parents drilled me into thinking that it wouldn’t be a stable career to get into. However, I’ve been “itching” to do this for such a long time as I know now that this is what truely makes me happy and makes me feel alive! I just don’t know really where to start and who to contact as far as collaborating with people. I just don’t want to get scammed. I’m also 30-years-old and wondering if that’s too old to start a music career. I also live in Hawaii, but will be moving back to Los Angeles in a year when I graduate college. Anyone have any good advice? Thanks.

I’m a professional guitarist. I compose, record, and produce my own music. I do everything myself. I’m having a problem bringing people in. I have music all over the web and links to my social networking pages as well. I’m on myspace, www.myspace.com/chriswoodwardguitar. I’m on reverbnation, www.reverbnation.com/chriswoodward
I also have about 10 others. How can I get people to visit my social networking pages and listen to my music? Maybe I’m not good enough… Check out my myspace and reverbnation. Tell me what you think.

I love drawing and creating 3D designs, making animations, video games, and producing my own music…but I don’t know how to have them copyrighted! I don’t know who to trust with it, so how do you get it officially copyrighted?

I recently bought I music box like this:

In order to produce the sound it must be turned manually.
I’m trying to find out a way that I could make a device that will turn the crank without me having to. I’m kind of in the dark of how to do this, so if you have any suggestions or diagrams, it would be much appreciated.

My husband has the talent both singing and rap. He writes and produces his own music. He’s recorded over a hundred songs all ready, created one CD for sale and created two underground street free demo albums for his fans. One is about to go out on the streets soon and plus the first one was a huge success in a small town in Louisiana. The album was so good nobody could believe it was an underground album.
